About the live session

This live session is part of our continuous Artist & Industry Development programme, where music industry leaders bring deep experience and valuable insights into the areas of the industry that new and early stage artists need to know about. Subscribe now to gain access to the ongoing programme of weekly sessions in the SmartStudio.

For this session, renowned writer, journalist, artist mentor and scene mainstay Joe Muggs is joined by Melissa Taylor - founder and owner of Tailored Communications, one of the biggest and most respected press agencies in electronic music.

This session will cover some of the elements of successful communication in music, from how to create and craft a story around yourself and your music that can cut through a saturated landscape; how to define and control your narrative; and how to find the right help to do that. From writing a bio, to social media and web channel basics, to working with PR agencies and managing interviews - your teachers bring their wealth of experience and insight gained from working with and advising hundreds of artists on that path.

This is an interactive session limited to 38 places only in the SmartStudio, not to be missed by DJs and producers. Tickets for the front row are available as part of your subscription. This event will sell out, so get yours now to avoid disappointment.

If you are too late to secure a place on the front row, you will be able to register as an observer – this allows you to watch the session but not interact.

Note: to attend this session on the front row you will need access to a laptop or iPad, working microphone/webcam and be using Chrome or Safari browser.
