With over one hundred remixes under his belt, a solo album and the collaborative TQD album, DJ Q is a true Virtuoso. He guides us through his music-making process and workflow and takes us through the preparation, production and mixing of one of his signature Bassline tracks.
What you’ll learn
DJ Q guides you through chopping vocal acapellas, dance floor drums, synthesising impactful bass instruments, writing effective chord progressions, and perfecting the mix for a professional sounding track.
DJ Q uses Ableton Live to produce and mix his track as well as a handful of, mostly stock, plugins but you can follow along with any DAW.

Iconic producer and one-third of the UKG trio TQD, DJ Q is an icon of the bassline scene. His relentless work-rate has given Q an enviable back catalogue of bassline bangers and over 100 remixes to his name. His first big break came after submitting a mix CD which led to him hosting the fortnightly UKG Mix Show on 1Xtra in 2004. After releasing ‘U Wot!’, DJ Q's sound burst out of the underground and into the charts, bringing his boisterous bass-heavy belters to a whole new audience.
