Create tracks using found sounds

About the course

Open up a whole new world of sounds and creative possibilities by getting away from your computer and exploring some unusual sources. UK dance producer Hodge shows you how you can use all sorts of unexpected objects to create a completely unique sonic palette and transform your musical workflow.

What you’ll learn

Where most people see a boring everyday item, Hodge sees a huge amount of musical potential. He explores how you can completely mix up your productions with the help of some not-so-traditional sounds and shows how you can completely transform these, both inside and outside the DAW, to create something truly unique.

Hodge uses Ableton Live and his handy field recorder but, as he shows, you can make music with whatever is around you.

Get ready to think outside the box as you learn:
  • Why getting out of the box can make music production more fun and tactile
  • Where to find the perfect things to record for your tracks
  • How to process your recordings inside your DAW to create new sounds
  • Where to get great samples and how to change them up to make something new
  • How to use affordable hardware to mix up your creative workflow
  • How to build out your sounds and loops into a full track
