Developed in partnership with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music / ABRSM, 'Learn to DJ' is a definitive pathway In DJing featuring four courses and three levels of accredited assessments.
Presented by DJ, label boss and BBC 6 Music resident Jamz Supernova, you’ll learn everything from foundational techniques to advanced mixing and performance skills alongside different music genres and set planning.
Get started now with the free ‘Introducing: DJ’ course, then progress into the Beginner & Intermediate levels and get accountable with one of our ABRSM-accredited Level 1 and Level 2 equivalent assessments.

Step-by-step guide
Everything you need to know to get ready for your DJ assessment.
Create a free account if you haven’t already.
Have all of your information ready:
- Name - as it should appear on the mark form and certificate (This must match the name on any candidate ID if you are over 18).
- If you are under 18, then check with your parent /guardian - they will need to give their permission and upload their ID.
- Date of birth
- Any specific needs access requirements or reasonable adjustments

- Click “Buy Now” for your chosen level
- Complete the ID check and disclaimer
- We’ll send you an email once your ID verification is complete
- Click the link in the email or head over to the “Assessments” tab on your user profile to begin
You can cancel an assessment through your account. If you cancel within 7 days of booking and you have not already started, we will refund the full fee. Contact [email protected] with your request and make sure to include your assessment reference number.
You can take an assessment up to three times within 12 months. If you do not pass on your first attempt, you have two additional opportunities to retake.

We recommend watching the course and practising the tasks in the course guide before taking any assessments to ensure you're fully prepared.
After purchasing an assessment, you can take it at any time.
Once you start an assessment, you have 30 days to complete and submit your work.
Yes, your work will save after each module is completed, allowing you to take breaks and record any required videos. However, please note that your answers for a specific module will not be saved if you exit the assessment halfway through that module.
Once an assessment has been started, you have 30 days to complete it and submit your work.
Once you submit your assessment, it will join the queue to be marked by our examiners. We aim to mark all assessments and issue results within 28 days. You’ll receive an email as soon as your grades and feedback are ready.
