Workforce
Workforce is the solo alias of Jack Stevens; formerly of UK Drum & Bass duo, SpectraSoul. Since his first outing in early 2019, Workforce has carved out a striking identity; the values, details, tones and characteristics of his work set him apart from all others. This singularity is of course underpinned by a sense of function; a thread that connects all of his output - regardless of the style. After releases on seminal labels such as Exit Records, Critical Music, and 1985 Music, in 2022, Workforce presented his debut album ‘Set & Setting’ on his own imprint Must Make Music. This body of work marked a significant new chapter for Jack as he continues to establish himself as a solo producer, DJ, and label owner. As an album, ‘Set & Setting’ is an absolute focussing of the Workforce sound – frenetically varied in both sound and feel, but held together by an overarching aesthetic and sonic palette.
